Job Overview:
Operationally reports to Senior Production Engineer or Fabrication Operations Engineer.
McDermott is looking for Engineering interns to join our Fabrication Operations Engineering team.
As an intern, you will Learn to perform Fabrication of Offshore Platform for Oil and Gas EPC Projects under close supervision and mentoring.
As an Intern, assigned personal will learn the Fabrication Operations Engineering responsibilities by participating in Review of Design drawings for constructability, periodic Project Schedule assessments, Fabrication completion plan development, Critical Constructability Studies, Painting Strategy development, Scaffolding Strategy development, and preparation of project deliverables such as Project Fabrication Procedures, Method Statements, Material allocation plan/ Issuance, Work packaging of fabrication scope, KPI developments, Site Query preparations.
Assigned Intern will work in a project team environment engaging with peers and mentors to develop and support project execution with a plan for career development.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Understand the scope of work and Project milestone/ schedules
- Understand Project specifications, Procedures and Work execution plan
- Understand constructability requirements and support optimization efforts
- Review progress reporting and KPIs on the project
- Engage in interface management of project deliverables (Material and Drawings) to meet project plan
- Engage in Constructability studies and Lessons Learned implementation
- Prepare and issue fab deliverables like workpack, test packs, material allocation, procedures etc. as per plan
- Involve and understand Fabrication systems like SPC, CMS, PCM etc.
- Participate in QHSES initiatives to achieve the objectives
- Follow the company policies
Essential Qualifications & Education:
- Education : At least a semester away from graduation, in a bachelor's or master's engineering curriculum
- Strong analytical and mathematic skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management and professionalism
- Experience with using MS Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Power BI)
- A growth mindset and willingness to learn and accept improvement feedback
- Selfmotivated and Fast learner
- Ability to easily adapt to new environment
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Construction / Civil/ Structural/ Electrical/ Instrumentation/ Communication/ Electronics
