    Experience:

    • AcuteCare
    • Minimum:Five years experience in a healthcare
    • Threeyears experience in utilization management or denial
    • Knowledgeand experience in developing utilization management and revenuerecovery
    • Experiencedealing with authorizations and appeals
    • Knowledgeof discharge planning and clinical case management
    • Knowledgeand experience in project management and team
    • Knowledgeof and experience with basic research methods and statistical

    Responsibilities:

    • Supervisesprofessional and clerical employees who work with a range offunctions, including but not limited to access, pre-authorizationand precertification, bed placement, coding, utilization review anddenial management, care coordination collaborative treatmentplanning and core measures, discharge planning, clinical socialwork, tracking of the post-acute period and provision of diseasemanagement, and contracting internally and
    • Partnerswith the CMO for effective relationships with physicians, services,specialties,
    • Providesconsultation to the executive team, forming effective relationshipswith all VPs and department
    • Participatesin the determination and definition of the Care ManagementDashboard, using data to better understand strengths and weaknessesof the department, and to determine needs, decisions, and
    • Establishes,implements, and evaluates a written strategic plan for thedepartment that takes into account internal and external
    • Establishes,manages, and constantly evaluates staffing levels, assignments,skills, learning needs, and deployment of
    • Createsstable and reliable processes to anticipate and address specificsituations within the department and between the department andother departments and
    • Establisheseffective communication systems and forums with third party payers,the local PRO/QIO, Medical Records, and the managed care andfinance
