We are looking for you to join our team as a Field Engineer 2 or Principal Field Engineer 3 (Network Engineer) . What You’ll get to Do:

- The primary responsibilities of the Field Engineer Services: Network Engineer are to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot a dynamic communication system comprised of multiple airborne components and an array of terrestrial ground entry points.

- The equipment and environments they will maintain are in a meshed network of routers, switches, firewalls, and TACLANES.

- Other fundamental responsibilities include working with basic Linux system account management, data collection, syslog review, Linux servers/clients, network attached storage devices, and virtual machines

- Tertiary duties include maintaining and troubleshooting voice services including Asterisk call managers as well as maintaining the systems cyber security posture.

- The successful candidate will use engineering drawings for troubleshooting and use standard desktop computer and Windows based tools to produce or edit documents including drawings, plans, procedures and reports.

- Will assist and develop proficiency with performance of other engineering and operational duties as required in support of a 24/7 deployed operational network.

- Will work closely with an Active Duty/Government customer as well as internal Northrop Grumman Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).

- Prepare to learn and excel on a small multidisciplinary team responsible for troubleshooting a wide array of military voice and data services.

- Will need to have the ability to relay and receive information

- Will need to be able and willing to work extended hours to meet deadlines

- Will need to have the physical ability to easily maneuver around equipment in test labs and aircraft


Qualifications


This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3.

Basic Qualifications for a Field Engineer 2 (Network Engineer):


- 2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 4 years with an AS/AA degree; 0 Years with Masters; or 6 years in lieu of a degree will be considered with experience in repair, configuration, troubleshooting and operations of network devices and computer systems.
- Must have an Active Secret Security (or above) Clearance
- Experience administering Cisco client/server systems, managing IP based networks, and ability to solve difficult technical problems focused on the delivery of voice and data services over wireless IP networks.
- Must have a completed CCNA certification
- Must have a completed Security+ certification or at minimum be able to obtain within 6 months
- Must have a valid US Passport with a validity of 12 months of greater and at least 6 blank pages (this is due to the length of time needed to process a new passport)
- Must pass a physical health assessment and meet the minimal standards of fitness in alignment with AFCENT requirements. Basic Qualifications for a Principal Field Engineer 3 (Network Engineer):


- 5 years with Bachelors in Science; 3 years with Masters; or 9 years in lieu of a degree will be considered with experience in repair, configuration, troubleshooting and operations of network devices and computer systems.

- Experience administering Cisco client/server systems, managing IP based networks, and ability to solve difficult technical problems focused on the delivery of voice and data services over wireless IP networks.

- Combination of in-depth Cisco based IP networks, system administration experience with Linux, VMware and Windows 2008 Server and Windows 7 Professional
- General experience with; general computing and a working knowledge of military COMSEC, MIDS, SADL and communications radio hardware
- Experience working on and around aircraft and understanding of airborne equipment installation operation, maintenance and testing procedures and processes is highly desirable
- Working knowledge of EIGRP, BGP, DMVPN, NTP, SNTP and VLANs
- Experience with High Assurance IP Encryptor’s (HAIPEs), KG-210’s, KG-175’s, Red Hat Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Directory Server and VMware ESXi is a plus What We Can Offer You:
