Receptionist


The British International School Abu Dhabi is looking to appoint an outstanding Receptionist to join a well-established, supportive team in a highly successful and expanding school.

This is a term-time position only, beginning in January 2023.


About the Role


Reporting to the Director of Admissions and Marketing, the Receptionist will work alongside our current front of house team to carry out and promote efficient front desk procedures and play a key role in providing an excellent first impression of the School.

The Receptionist will offer an outstanding personalised service promoting highly effective relationships and exceptional levels of professional communication.


As Receptionist you will be responsible for meeting and greeting parents and visitors and ensuring all are dealt with in a professional and friendly manner.

You will also answer, screen and direct telephone calls, take and relay messages and enquiries, receive, sort and distribute mail and deliveries and keep the reception area tidy.


This position will also have responsibility for dealing with queries from members of the public, clients and key stakeholders, monitoring visitor access, and maintaining security awareness.

The Receptionist will also provide general administrative and clerical support to the School's Administration team offering excellent attention to detail and the willingness to take on multiple tasks.


About you


You will be friendly and polite, of smart appearance, able to calmly and confidently deal with difficult clients or customers and have the gravitas to gain credibility with Senior Management.

It is essential that you possess high levels of personal integrity, you are conscientious and able to focus on completing work to a consistently high standard with the ability to work to tight deadlines.

In addition, you will be flexible and have a positive approach to work and attention to detail that is second to none.


  • A strong customer service background in customer facing roles.
  • Experience in a multilingual, multinational organisation.
  • Experience of working with Microsoft packages including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation and timemanagement skills.
  • The ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment and the willingness to take on multiple tasks.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
