WhatYou'll Do On a Typical Day

• Perform routine maintenance functionsand adjustments on trailing equipment, in compliance with themanufacturers, DOT, and companyschedules
• Access any area of the equipment toperform necessary maintenance, including inspecting and performingwork in, on or under parts of trailers
• Repairor rebuild all or part of equipmentsystems
• Apply knowledge and work in accordancewith DOT, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), InterstateAuthority, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) andother rules and regulations, asrequired
• Maintain proficiency on equipment andtechnologies that enhance our productivity
• Movetrailers throughout the property, operate a hostler in all types ofweather
• Enter job times and parts on repairorders to track activity
• Operate specializedtooling and vehicles
• Ensure work area is alwaysclean, safe, and organized
• Interact withoperations and shop management
  
  

What You Need ToSucceed At XPO

At a minimum,you'll need:

• 1year of verifiable experience in heavy duty maintenance and/or timein the Entry-Level Technician role
• A validdriver's license
• Ability to performsafety inspections of equipment and prepare safetydocumentation
• Basic computerskills
• Availability to work a variety ofshifts, including days, evenings, nights andweekends
• Brake inspection qualified as definedin the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations,Section 369.25
• Vehicle Inspection qualified inthe Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations,Section 369.19
• Basic hand tools required forheavy duty trailer maintenance
  
  

It'd Be GreatIf You Also Have

• High school diploma orequivalent
• Prior mechanical experience such asautomotive or skilled trades
• Diesel tech schooldiploma
• Previous or current ASEcertifications
• Basic welding skills(Oxy/Acetylene, MIG and ARC)
  
  

This Job Requires TheAbility To

• Lift objects of various shapes,sizes, and weights up to 50 lbs. frequently and more than 75 lbs.occasionally
• Safely walk and stand for extendedperiods of time on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery,including working outdoors in inclementweather
• Reach (including above your head),bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat andkneel
• Walk and stand for extended periods oftime on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may beslippery
