Job Description:


The Management Accountant supports the integrity of information held in the finance ERP system and covers all aspects of the financial and cost accounting for Iqarus International.


Duties and responsibilities:


  • Ensure that accurate journal entries are prepared on a timely basis to reflect all IQ International P&L and balance sheet transactions this will involve posting the journals directly for Africa and Rest of World, as well as liaison with the Management Accountants for the Afghanistan and Training & Development entries.
  • Take ownership for verification, allocation, posting, reconciliation, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Prepare accurate month end cost accruals for expenses already incurred but not yet invoiced/paid, as well as revenue accruals for any revenue not yet invoiced.
  • Work with Procurement and Accounts Payable colleagues to ensure correct coding of expenditure transactions.
  • Adhere to the month end close timetable, ensuring timely completion of all analysis and reconciliations.
  • Prepare the monthly P&L reports for Africa, and Rest of World and support the Financial Controller in preparing the consolidated reports and any other reports required by the management.
  • Contribute to the monthly P&L review meetings to discuss the above reports with P&L owners.
  • Perform reconciliations for all key balance sheet accounts for IQ International and ensure that any discrepancies are identified/resolved on a timely basis.
  • Liaise with intercompany counterparties and colleagues from AP & AR to reconcile the intercompany balances for IQ International.
  • Provide data upon request to support forecasts/budgets, cost tracking, monitoring and controls.
  • Take ownership for accurate and timely filing of quarterly VAT returns for IQ International.
  • Assist with the year end audit and tax process for IQ International.
  • Assist with preparation of any ad hoc financial information and analysis as required.
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Ensure compliance with all internal processes and suggest ways to continually improve.

Qualifications:


  • Either a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant experience or qualified by experience in a similar role with 5+ years' experience
  • Working practical knowledge of IFRS & IAS
  • Experienced user of a Financial ERP System
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
