Traditional capital markets afford a large opportunity for transformation in order to align with and optimise a rapidly digitising world.

Building on Copper's core capabilities in custody and collateral management, Copper Markets will develop a blockchain-based financial market infrastructure. Copper Markets will build and enable a more transparent, efficient and accessible financial ecosystem.

This sovereign-endorsed initiative will be based in the UAE - a nascent but innovative and rapidly growing market that is well placed to benefit from a blockchain-based financial infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities of the role

• Setting up the UAE office and owning the day to day operational management
• Working alongside the CEO and the CCO to execute the companies business strategy in the UAE
• Taking ownership of the licencing with the AGM and the FSRA, building and optimising regulatory structures
• Ensuring we are compliant with local laws and regulations in partnership with our legal partners
• Establishing new policies, processes and procedures to support the entity
• Providing the London HQ with regular updates on the UAE performance
• Optimising existing and building new client relationships in the UAE
• Formulating strategic and operational objectives for the business, reporting back to the wider business on these regularly.
• Managing the wider team in the UAE to ensure the efficient set up and running of the entity.
• Communicating and maintaining trusted relationships with clients, business partners and authorities
• Acting as the public speaker and public relations representative of Copper in the UAE to strengthen its profile
• Analysing problematic situations and occurrences and providing solutions to ensure company success and growth
• Preparing and implementing comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievements by planning costeffective operations

Your experience, skills and knowledge

Essential

• Previous experience working as an Operations Manager or Head of Operations in a Global Custodian
• Knowledge and experience of creating strategic and operational objectives, reporting back on these to the wider business
• Experience in managing licencing and working alongside regulators
• A track record of building and nurturing existing client partnerships
• Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance
• Experience working in a consultancy, with the ability to provide advice and expertise to client organisations
• Ability to communicate, present andinfluence all levels of the organization, including executive and Clevel.
• Understand the importance of structuring and documentation
• Proven track record of driving the performance of successful teams.

• Experience of setting up an entity and managing the day to day operations
• Experience working in a fast paced startup environment
