Qualifications:

Fluent English communication skills, written and oral

Strong interpersonal skills to aid in daily contact with parents in a diverse multi-cultural environment

Excellent office management skills

Proficient in Microsoft platforms, operating PC, Facsimile, Photocopier, Telex, and various office machines, including working knowledge of prevailing popular application software and spreadsheets.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

To develop an understanding of the Special Educational Needs of the student/s concerned

To consider the student/s' special needs and ensure their access to the lesson and its content through appropriate clarification, explanations, equipment, and materials

To build and maintain successful relationships with student(s), treat them consistently, with respect and consideration

Listening to teachers and parents about the academic and behavior To provide learning support for the pupil(s) in class or 1:1 situations.

To develop knowledge of the particular needs of the children and seek advice from the SENCo, class teacher, and SEN Teacher as required.

To aid access to the full range of learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom and provide modified materials as required e.g. worksheets, games, visual prompt cards etc.

To make or modify resources as suggested and advised by the SENCo, school counselor, or other outside agencies.

Provide positive reinforcements, praise, and rewards to pupils, implement, monitor, and provide data regarding student's behavior plans.

Facilitate inclusion in small group activities with peers and support interaction between them.

To attend in-service training and relevant meetings relevant to the post to keep up to date with developments in working with children with special educational needs.

To provide regular feedback to the SENCo and, where necessary, relevant outside agencies about any pupil's difficulties, progress, and attendance.

To contribute to the pupils' annual review by writing a brief report and attending the meeting.

To foster links between home and school.

To understand and apply the school policies on learning and behavior, and the statutory guidelines relating to disability discrimination and special educational needs.

To maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the pupils' needs but have regard to the safeguarding procedures of the school.

To carry out duties as directed by the SENCO or SEN Teacher

Undertake other duties from time to time as the principal requires

Intimate care to pupils as needed and advised
