    Billing Specialist I - Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Energy Jobline

    Description

    EssentialFunctions

    • Initiates Prior Authorizationsubmissions and completes all follow ups for all insurance Payorsincluding Medicare Advantage, Medicaid's, HMO, PPO, andCommercial until the case has reached adetermination.
    • Compiles pre-certificationinformation to submit prior authorization requests via outboundphone calls and/or web-based sites (familiarity withpayors).
    • Performs regular follow-up calls withinsurance companies to check status of prior authorization request.Logs approval in database.
    • Conducts outboundand/or inbound calls to patients, doctor's offices,insurance companies as necessary or required to completetasks.
    • Ensures proper documentation is receivedand recorded before processing additional supplies to patients, percompliance guidelines.
    • Ensures accurate entryand update of changes as requested by physicians and/orpatients.
    • Maintains working knowledge ofbilling guidelines and resources for Medicare and PrivateInsurances.
    • Recognizes and reviews billedorders to effectively request authorization for upcomingrefills.
    • Researches, follows up, and resolvesall open/pending Authorizations in a timelymanner.
    • Develops and maintains knowledge of allproducts and services offered by thecompany.
    • Complies with HIPAA rules,appropriately safeguarding PHI or other private &confidential information.
    • Maintains accurateand detailed notes in the companysystem.
    • Adapts quickly to frequent processchanges and improvements.
    • Is reliable, engaged,and provides feedback as to improve processes andpolicies.
    • Attends all department, team, andcompany meetings as required.
    • Appropriatelyroutes incoming calls when necessary.

    Requirements

    • High School diploma orequivalent
    • Knowledge of insurance verificationand/or authorization, billing, and processingclaims
    • Basic knowledge of billing guidelinesand resources for Medicare and Privateinsurance
    • Basic knowledge of insurance portals;familiarity with a variety of medical and/or insurance terms orpractices
    • Proficiency in basic math andbusiness calculations
    • Working knowledge ofcomputer/data entry with the ability to learn newsystems
    • Basic level of MS Officeproficiency
