    Job Details

    Diplomatic Language Services (DLS), based in the Washington, DC metro area, has been providing exceptional language and cultural training services to US government and commercial clients for more than 35 years. DLS is a fast-growing and dynamic organization offering excellent career potential. DLS is currently seeking an experienced instructor of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) for an English language training program in the UAE. Project involves teaching adult students in a military setting. Instruction is based on an existing curriculum. Start date in or around November of 2025.

    Per client requirements, instructor must be a US citizen.

    Instructor Responsibilities

    • Develop weekly lesson plans;
    • Conduct classes while maintaining a student-centered classroom;
    • Administer periodic curriculum based skills assessment and testing (oral and written);
    • Conduct laboratory sessions (computer/multimedia);
    • Maintain student performance, attendance and academic records on a daily/weekly basis;
    • Conduct student counseling sessions;
    • Attend team meetings at request of supervisors and/or management;
    • Participate in additional projects as needed.

    Required Qualifications

    • High level of English proficiency;
    • Master's degree in TESOL or similar field and one year of professional experience teaching ESL/EFL to adults;
    • 2+ years of experience teaching adult learners;
    • Experience teaching overseas;
    • High level of intercultural competence and adaptability
    • Proven ability to work well in a collaborative, team environment;
    • Well organized and able to deliver lesson plan clearly;
    • Ability to maintain professional appearance, demeanor, and classroom environment;
    • Understanding of the importance of adherence to all worksite rules and regulations.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience teaching in the Middle East;
    • Experience in military training environments.
