About Role

Insilico Medicine, a leading company in AI for drug discovery, is expanding its reach into non-pharma chemistry applications of AI: materials science, chemical process engineering, catalysis, etc. As part of its work with industrial partners from Saudi Arabia on existing projects in the field of creating new materials, the company is looking for a project manager who will ensure the interaction of company employees with customers, monitor project deadlines and solve management and organizational problems.

Reports to

Head of Department and General Manager

Responsibilities

· Creation of presentations and presentation of interim and milestone reports for customers;

· Development of work schedules, monitoring of internal research;

· Preparation of all interim and final reports and documents in accordance with approved standards;

· Coordination of the work of various research groups within the framework of one project;

· Communication with external contract organizations responsible for experiments on the chemical synthesis of new materials and their testing;

· Deep dive into the development of new adsorbents and catalysts;

· Validation of the obtained internal computational results;

· Active participation in the development of new projects and directions in the field of non-pharmaceutical artificial intelligence;

· Business trips within the Gulf countries;

General Requirements:

I. Education

PhD in Computational Chemistry or ML/AI in Chemistry or Heterogeneous Catalysis or Materials Science

II. Experience and Skills

· Experience in a position that involves communicating with clients and presenting results to them, from 3-5 years;

· More than 5 years of experience in searching, reading and systematizing scientific literature: articles, patents, monographs;

· Basic knowledge of Data Science methods;

· Experience in using Data Science tools: Python notebooks, web applications, databases.

· Experience in using machine learning models to solve chemical problems;

· Knowledge of methods of computer modelling from first principles (ab initio methods, molecular mechanics, solid state modelling);

· Knowledge of physical chemistry to describe adsorption processes and heterogeneous catalysis

· Identifying issues and presenting potential solutions;

· Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines;

· Skills in preparing MS Office presentations and oral/online presentations;

· Effective communicator both orally and in writing English and Arabic;

· Understand business priorities, anticipate business needs and plan for the future;

· The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team successfully;

· Ability to problem solve and think outside the box.
