    Responsibilities

    • Plan, lead, organise and controldefined Maintenance discipline
    • Assesstechnician training requirements
    • Assuretechnician competence – conduct regular fieldobservations
    • Conduct staff technicianappraisals and provide feedback to Employer re contract technicianperformance
    • Communicate Management &Corporate objectives to technician level
    • Review& endorse maintenance workschedules/plans
    • Conduct daily worksite visitsverifying work safety and quality
    • Conductregular reviews of task Toolbox Talks (TBT), ensuring competency ofindividuals
    • Ensure procedures are available tothe technicians and that procedures arecurrent
    • Participate in department budgetplanning
    • Control maintenance costs in line withbudgetary requirements
    • Liaise with MaintenanceEngineering organization
    • Manage discipline MOCcompliance and completion
    • Prepare for, andparticipate in meetings as required
    • Participatein HSE and technical risk assessments
    • Positionparticipates in SAGE Duty Manager Rota (24x7) providing ongoingsupport to SAGE Plant operation and EmergencyResponse
    • In the event of an emergency. Tomobilize the Emergency Control Centre (ECC) and manage theactivities of the ECC and SAGE Emergency Response

    Qualifications

    Maths,English and Physics or Chemistry 'O' levels orequivalent.

    City and Guilds/VocationalQualification process/chemical plant operation(Desirable).

    Completed recognisedapprenticeship or equivalent certified trainingprogram.

    S/NVQ level 3 vocationalqualification (Desirable).
