- Todeliver effective social work assessment, care planning andinterventions in the most demanding, sensitive and complex cases toimprove the safety, development and wellbeing of childreninvolved.
- To supervise the case work of socialworkers, social work assistants, students and child careprofessionals receive appropriate supervision anddirection.
- Support the personal developmentopportunities for social workers, social work assistants, studentsand child care professionals, acting as a coach andmentor.
- Complex and contentious case managementissues are resolved so that positive and timely action can be takento address risks and meet demands, in conjunction with Deputy/TeamManager.
- Lead responsibility for an area ofchildren's service development and contribute topartnership working across CYPS and partners, whereappropriate.
- To assist the team/deputy teammanager in building a strong and cohesiveteam.
- Participate in quality audit of theteam's and other teams work, whererelevant.
- Assist in the allocation,prioritisation and planning of caseloads, in conjunction withDeputy/Team Manager.
- Responsibility forchairing professionals and strategic meetings and acting on behalfof the Deputy/Team Manager as appropriate for theteam.
- A social Work Qualification orequivalent.
- Understanding of relevantlegislation.
- Continual professionaldevelopment.
- Social Work Englandregistered.
