    Description

    The post holder will report to the AvionicsSenior Supervisor and be an experienced and skilled avionictechnician and supervisor, undertaking a range of detailedmaintenance activities on aircraft or on aircraftcomponents.

    The post holder requires an excellentunderstanding of the Typhoon approved data set and is competent tosupervise personnel carrying out maintenance instructions inaccordance with the organisation s regulatoryframework.

    Demonstrates a distinct ability toanalyse and diagnose faults to equipment and assemblies, followdiagnostic procedures and work effectively within a team. Provideguidance to less experienced team members in a diverse and dynamicoperational environment.

    CoreActivities

    Undertaking detailed maintenance, inspectionactivities on the air electric bay components. Assuring workundertaken is completed in accordance with the work package, usingthe relevant approved technical information. Resolving faults andmaintenance issues, including an awareness of configurationmanagement

    Undertaking and complete taskedmaintenance & diagnostic activities on electric components,which may include, as appropriate, component removals, inspections,repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and / orfunctional / system test

    Demonstrate a flexibleand proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriateto the role and takes direction appropriately

    Maintaining a personal task authorisation for working on componentsin accordance with QAF requirements

    Progressreporting against delivery targets to supervisor

    Undertaking support tasks within the Air Electric Bay facilitywhich are required to maintain compliance with the MOE and QAFprocedures (e.g. oversight checks, control of tooling / testequipment)

    Undertaking fault evaluation andraise ad hoc work cards for found faults duringmaintenance

    Ensuring all Maintenance activitiesare appropriately documented and airworthiness records aremaintained on relevant systems (IT / paper based). Compile requiredreporting, identify any issues and escalate asappropriate

    Maintaining a personal Log Book todemonstrate currency and recency, on completion of On the Jobtraining (OJT) activities, sign other personnel s logbooks asappropriate within your trade and skills boundaries. If you are anapproved designated assessor, undertake authorisation and taskcompetency approvals, and check Pt 145 license application packsprior to submission

    Performanceindicators Leading by example to provide effectivemaintenance activities by meeting delivery targets, monitoringprogress and reporting any impact on continuing airworthiness.Identify any issues and escalate as appropriate. Understand how theteams and own actions contribute to overall delivery performanceand safety

    Procedure/standards Comply with theregulatory framework, its associated procedures and standards, andany other company procedures and standards. Identify and proposechange as required as applicable

    Safety Management System Ensure humanfactors and error management philosophies are applied to allmaintenance activities. Understand the risks associated withmaintenance activities and the means by which they are mitigatedand managed

    ContinuingAirworthiness Assurance (Quality) Ensure maintenanceactivities are compliant with the continuing airworthinessassurance management system, in conjunction with theMOE

    Statutory/Regulatory &Legislative requirements Able to demonstrate anappropriate level of understanding and application of the relevantcontinuing airworthiness regulatory framework. Support theimplementation of any regulatory driven changes into themaintenance activities. Ensure compliance with all otherrequirements, e.g. ITAR, EaPW,ISO

    ContractualRequirements Comply with all applicable contractualrequirements

    Requirements

    Recognised apprenticeship with typically 3+years experience

    Requires broad and in-depthproduct knowledge / competency within own technical / subject area.Awareness of how the team integrates with others in order toachieve the overall objectives of the area and demonstrates anunderstanding of the requirement for continuous improvement and itsapplication

    Typhoon Avionics Trade Q Course orequivalent

    On the Job Training InstructionalTechniques
