- Develop, issue and maintainProject Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure(CBS) for specific scopes
- Liaise with otherProject Controls disciplines and functions, assist and support inthe development of project budgets in accordance with the Basis ofEstimate including statements of work scope, assumptions, man-hourestimates, narratives and review & comment of clientdocuments
- Liaise with procurement, finance andtime-capture functions, and third parties as required, to ensureaccurate and timely capture of procurement, materials, subcontractand labour manhour costs. Ensure costs are allocated accurately inaccordance with approved project WBS
- Liaisewith engineering, procurement and construction functions, andothers as required, to maintain awareness of project activities andtheir impact on the project budget, schedule and costforecast.
- Facilitate and manage the projectwork approval process in terms of accurate cost code allocation andinitial budget set-up and approvals
- Develop andmaintain project cost budgets using appropriate softwareapplications
- Monitor and control costcommitments and expenditures through all phases of projectlifecycle
- Liaise with planning as required toensure accuracy in project cost phasing andforecasting
- Prepare and provide project costperformance reports in accordance with project reportingrequirements
- Prepare and issue updates toproject cost forecasts
- Monitor and report oncost impact of project manpowerforecasts
- Develop and issue project changeorders / variations in accordance with engineering and constructionchange notifications
- Facilitate and communicatecost and schedule impact of changenotifications.
- Monitor overall project costperformance and contingency drawdown.
- Attendproject meetings as required.
- Coordinate theproject cost close-out process
- Attend cost& estimate risk analysis sessions asrequired
- Participate in Project ControlsCompliance and Continuous ImprovementReviews
- Assist and support in the mentoring ofjunior Cost personnel Responsible for delivering cost budgets andreports where;
- Budgets correspond in structureand monetary value to submitted estimates, the WBS &CBS
- Original and current budgets correspond toapproved estimates plus approved scope changes through the projectlife cycle
- Updates issued in a timely mannerand cost reports are accurate within the bounds of the costsystem
- Projects are reported accurately andwith sufficient detail
- Project issues arehighlighted in a timely manner
- Project reportsare issued in accordance with the contract reportingcalendar
- Scope and design development changeorders are correctly identified
- Change ordersare tracked and correct submittal and approval dates are entered intracking system
- Change order status is adjustedwithin cost reporting system as change orders are submitted andapproved
