About the Department


FRED & Registry Services are responsible for the University's administration and policy implementation related to undergraduate and postgraduate (coursework and research) students.

The team ensures that student processes are administered according to academic and administrative guidelines and that the administration of student processes complies with all policies and procedures of the University and works towards improving customer service for students and all key stakeholders.

The position of Academic Support Officer is a key operational coordination and customer service position for the University.

Due to the nature of the role, the position holder is expected to be highly systematic and organized in their approach to the role.

Academic Support
***- Main Liaison contact between Faculties and FRED & Registry Services

  • Approve student requests as per FRED delegation of authority
  • Make referrals to specialist teams, including the scheduling of appointments for follow up academic advice (if required)
  • Escalate any issues that require further investigation or discussion for future operational planning
  • Collation of Subject Outlines from Faculties
  • Prepare reports to ensure student enrolment is in accordance with the relevant policy.
  • Manage MRP Process (including intervention strategy) and liaise with Faculty for approvals
  • Collate and produce Degree Planners in line with each program.
  • Coordination of those reported for nonattendance, and prepare correspondence for students.
  • Process lapsed students in compliance with the appropriate Policies and Procedures
  • Mange the process of Post Enrolment Conditions including cancellations and reinstatements
  • Manage the process of English waivers, Challenge Tests, Reevaluation requests
Qualifications & Experience


Essential:


  • Bachelors Degree in an appropriate discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience using student administration systems
  • A commitment to Values of Passion, Courage, Integrity, Excellence, Collaboration and Innovation
  • Expert systems proficiency
  • Expert spreadsheet (Excel) skills
  • Ability to meet compliance/policy requirements

Desirable:


  • Masters Degree
