    THE ROLEWe are expanding our team and have an exciting opportunity for a Shipbroker to join our Dubai office working across the Dry Physical Freight Desk.

    Ideal candidates will demonstrate a successful Broking background in Dry Cargo ship broking.

    You will be personable tenacious and a natural networker having a proactive approach to generating leads and securing new business.

    ResponsibilitiesPromote FIS as a company providing market intelligence and analysis to clientsMaintain and enhance existing client relationships making regular contact and tracking daily trading activitiesDrive revenue and develop and enhance client baseUnderstand the team\'s business strategy and identify new business opportunities relating to trends in Dry Cargo markets and clientsUndertake market analysis providing market insight and trade ideas to clientsResponsible for daily price discovery dissemination and matchingCreate and write daily market reports as requiredIdentify and introduce new clients to the market and maintain professional relationshipsPerform any other reasonable duties the company may requireRisk related responsibilitiesSupport a risk and compliance aware culture and comply with FIS company policiesEnsure full awareness of and adhere to internal policies that relate to the role or any relevant other activitiesTrainingSeek regular feedback from Desk Head to ensure role requirements are metComplete any mandatory training required by the company and required deadlinesMaintain own Continued Professional Development (CPD)

    RequirementsKey Competencies / SkillsPossess knowledge of shipping industry; sound knowledge of Dry Cargo markets as well as technical aspects of broking preferredDegree in Shipping Maritime Studies or related degree - preferredStrong client focus; personable and engaging building relationships and networks wherever possible essentialCommunicate effectively with clients and colleagues - essentialTenacious and thrives in a pressurised environment essentialTeam orientated; works well with others and diverse groups / personalities essentialExcellent attention to detail; strong analytical and numeracy skills essentialExhibit professional and ethical conduct at all times establishing and developing all business relationships (internal and external stakeholders) based on respect integrity & dignityRequired Skills:

    Key competencies / skills Demonstrate experience in execution brokerage in related products covering commercial clients (financial markets or the physical markets) - essential Deep understanding of price risk management - essential Robust quantitative presentation and decision-making capabilities Entrepreneurial mindset / self-motivated Strong client focus; personable and engaging building relationships and networks wherever possible Degree in Environmental Sciences or Economics or related degree preferred Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues - essential Tenacious and thrives in a pressurised environment essential Team orientated; works well with others and diverse groups / personalities essential Excellent attention to detail; strong analytical and numeracy skills essential Good IT Systems experience Excel - essential If you have the relevant Broker career experience skill sets and would like to know more about the above opportunity then please apply now.
