Job Purpose: Lead the expressoperations driving productivity and resource optimisation to meetoperational goals ensuring that quality safety and regulatorystandards and procedures are not compromised.

Job Outline:

• Identify manage andimplement operational strategies policies and procedures to attainservice quality and revenue objectives of SkyCargo global expressoperations. This includes first mile and final mile operationsnetwork & line haul operations along with customs clearanceoperations globally.
• Manage top line expressoperational activities and enable the right people with the rightskills to be assigned at the right time to accomplish the work thatneeds to be done
• Provide leadership anddirection to the express operations team in areas such asperformance management upskilling and recognizing development needswithin the team
• Develop and maintainprofessional relationships with internal & externaldepartments to positively enable department objectives
• Evaluate team performance against establishedgoals and objectives and provide meaningful and constructivefeedback to individuals in accordance with the Emirates performancemanagement principles
• Manage conduct andconflict within the team in line with the relevant policies andprocedures ensuring consistency and objectivity
• Lead monthly team meetings based aroundinvestigation audits and corrective actions to ensure safetysecurity and regulatory standards are applied without compromise
• Ensure all safety incidents and accidents areinvestigated effectively providing guidance and ensuring adherenceto regulatory obligations
• Prepare the dailyhub operations and express hub service level reports and recommendchanges to maintain and continuously improve express ServiceDelivery
• Recommend changes to StandardOperating Procedures as appropriate and encourage teams toparticipate in continuous improvement initiatives and new ways ofdoing things
• Ensure all deviations are handledrecorded and escalated as per controlled documents (QMS and WorkInstructions) and ensure at all times that the handling of expressshipments demonstrate compliance with internal and externalrequirements
• Provide operational policyguidelines to express operations staff to ensure uniformity ofcourier and express operations standards. Investigate address andresolve deviations from policy ensuring the relevant stakeholdersare informed
• Ensure that the GHA and otherservice suppliers/partners are fully briefed regarding Emiratesrequirements and service levels. Monitor and oversee the serviceprovided by all partners GHA to ensure it is in line with EKstandards and where there are shortcomings to address theseappropriately and in a timely manner
• Todevelop & implement revenue generating strategies forexpress related operational activities such as import &export services in accordance with Company policies and SkyCargosoverall commercial orientation
• Manage variousadministrative functions and interact with governmental authoritiesfor licensing and compliance with legal procedures anddocumentation for the movement for all types of expressservices.

Qualifications

Degree orHonours (123 or equivalent) :

Knowledge and Skills

• A qualification inlogistics and operations management or similar would beadvantageous.
• Educated to Degree (orequivalent) with at least 8 years experience in a courier andexpress Cargo operations environment including at least 5 years ata supervisory/management level.
• Knowledge ofglobal express operations the local area cargo environmentincluding customs formalities
• Proven abilityto lead and develop staff
• PC based skillsincluding Microsoft Word/ Excel/ Email
• Fluencyin English and the language of the country you are working isessential
