    Requirements

    Responsibilities:


    Facilitation in accordance with the learning outcomes as set for the SAE Games programme, with a focus on practical application, theoretical frameworks, workflow and technique.

    Mentor students, conduct consultations and facilitate learning opportunities.
    Research relevant content in order to develop learning material and lesson plans.
    Evaluation, moderation, invigilation and assessment of learning.
    Keep accurate records of evidence (e.g. attendance, assessment results).Adhere to SAE policies and procedures.
    Other duties as assigned by the HOD.


    Experience, Education and Competency:


    Minimum NQF Level 8 qualification (BA Honours)The successful candidate must show evidence of good subject- and discipline-related skills geared towards the development of games, so as to be capable of facilitating the range of learning required for the games developer course at SAE.

    Substantial experience in the field of games development. (Min. 2 years).Facilitation of learning experience (Min. 2 years).The successful candidate must be proficient in games development and design.
    Must be knowledgeable about interactive media practices.
    Must have a solid grounding in C# programming.
    Must have solid experience of the Unity gaming engine.

    Demonstrate knowledge and experience in the Adobe software suite, such as Photoshop, Illustrator and After EffectsMust have experience in 3D and 2D workflows and games asset creation.

    Must have a body of work that demonstrates competency in modelling, game development and game asset creation.
    Must have the technical ability and familiarity of range of software packages and/or programming languages.

    Classroom management and workshop facilitation skills:
    A minimum of 2 years

    recent experience in an academic or training environment preferred.

    Be able to execute and facilitate the normal day-to-day demands of lecturing, lesson planning, delivery, assessment, administration, student support and review.

    Possess outstanding communication, interpersonal skills, administration skills, be highly organised and possess good time management skills.

    Ability to develop and conduct appropriate practical and theoretical assessments as well as teaching and learning materials pertinent to modules.

    Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
    Computer literate.
    Collaborative and willing to work with fellow lecturers and the HOD to supportstudents.
    Must have rights to live and work in South Africa.
