EssentialResponsibilities

• Establishes and maintains atherapeutic relationship with all patients. Communicate withpatient via phone, secure message, video, letter and documentappropriately.
• Administers medication andtreatments to patients. Perform vitals and follow escalationpathway as needed.
• Attends, participates in,and facilitates classes/workshops asneeded.
• Coordinates end of episode ofcare/After Visit summary under the direction of the care teamconsider.
• Completes appropriate documentationas assigned. Conduct chart review, identify and assemble relevantinformation to transmit a refillrequest.
• Document physician orders accuratelyand in a timely manner.
• Participates as a teammember in all unit activities, reports observations, documentsobservations, and asks appropriate questions when clarification arenecessary.
• Implements patient treatment plansin coordination with the treatment team.
• Keepsthe treating clinicians and care team informed of patient behaviorand changes in patient condition. Notifies treating clinicians andcare team in regard to patients who are clinical managementconcerns.
• Acts as a role model in maintaining ahopeful and positive attitude in problemsolving.
• Ensures that supplies and medicationsnecessary for patient care are ordered andavailable.
• Observes, records and reportspatients social, medical and psychiatricpresentation.
• Participates in daily dataacquisition processes by collecting and documenting data asclinically indicated.
• Promotes and assistspatients in developing self-helpskills.
• Perform other related duties asnecessary.

Experience

BasicQualifications:

• Minimum six (6) months experienceworking in an acute mental health treatment setting within the pastfour years.
• Per the National Agreement, currentKP Coalition employees have this experience requirementwaived.
  

Education

• Graduate of an accredited PsychiatricTechnician Program, or otherwise qualified for California licensureas a Psychiatric Technician.
  

License, Certification,Registration

• PsychiatricTechnician License (California)

AdditionalRequirements

• Knowledge of the laws and regulationsgoverning the delivery of mental health services in the State ofCalifornia.
• Willingness to develop / enhancecompetencies in managing the milieu in aPHF.
• Ability to read and comprehend simpleinstructions, short correspondence, andmemos.
• Ability to write simplecorrespondence.
• Ability to effectively presentinformation in one-on-one and small group situations to customers,clients, and other incumbents of theorganization.
• Must be willing to work in aLabor Management Partnership environment. Also refer to PositionSpecifications outlined in the appropriate collective bargainingagreement.
• Demonstrated understanding ofpsychiatric illness and itstreatment.
• Competency in data collection anddocumentation of data collected.
• Demonstratedknowledge of psychotropic medications.
