    Description

    This position offers the chance to play a critical role in ensuring that all piping components, assemblies, and systems are fabricated in full compliance with project specifications, industry codes, and established quality standards. As a Piping Inspector in fabrication, you will be responsible for continuously monitoring fabrication activities, conducting detailed inspections, verifying material conformity, and ensuring that all welding and assembly work meets the required standards before final release for installation. This role provides a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the integrity, safety, and reliability of complex piping systems while working closely with fabrication teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

    What You'll Be Accountable For

    Contract & Compliance

    • Understand and interpret contract requirements and subcontractor obligations .
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable HSE requirements related to fabrication activities.
    • Review project specifications and ensure fabrication work aligns with approved standards.

    Quality Procedures & Documentation

    • Assist in developing project‑specific quality procedures .
    • Assist in preparing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) .
    • Perform and document inspections as assigned, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Conduct inspections of subcontractor work and review subcontractor documentation.
    • Oversee subcontractor inspection activities to ensure compliance with project requirements.
    • Generate Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) when deviations are identified.

    Fabrication & Welding Inspection

    • Review specifications, prepare shop procedures, and coordinate with clients to resolve fabrication issues.
    • Supervise QC inspectors and QC personnel during fabrication activities.
    • Provide final QC release on drawings and fabrication deliverables.
    • Prepare and qualify PQRs and WPSs , coordinating with client representatives and third‑party inspectors (TPI).
    • Perform piping fit‑up inspections, welding inspections during and after welding, and final visual/dimensional inspections of spools.
    • Conduct weld audits, review daily welding reports, NDT reports, and prepare final weld/NDE summaries.
    • Monitor welder performance and verify proper issuance, handling, and storage of welding consumables.

    Material Inspection

    • Perform incoming material inspections , ensuring materials meet project specifications and traceability requirements.
    • Verify material certificates, heat numbers, and compliance with ASME and project standards.

    Package & Documentation Review

    • Review fabrication packages, spool dossiers, and ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate.
    • Coordinate with clients and TPI for inspections, clarifications, and final acceptance.

    You Bring

    Qualifications

    • B. Tech / Diploma – Mechanical / Production Engineering. Engineering Diploma in a relevant Discipline.
    • Previous ADNOC/Aramco experienced preferred.

    Experience

    • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in fabrication of pressure vessels and piping .
    • Strong working knowledge of industry codes and standards including: ASME Section IX, Section I, Section VIII Div. 1, B31.3, B31.1, Section IIC, Section IIA .
    • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.
    • Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Access .
