    About TheRole

    SIGN-ONBONUS: $2,500 (1/2 after 30 days, 1/2 after 90days)

    As aControl Room Operator, you willexecute the approved plant start-up and shutdown procedures toassure that the facility meets it's operational,environmental, and safety commitments while operating in a safe andenvironmentally efficientmanner.

    PositionResponsibilities:

    • Provide guidance to Crane, Auxiliary,and Back Plant Operators to maintain a safe and efficientoperation
    • Effectively monitor Covantaoperations systems and have strong working knowledge of boiler,turbine, and auxiliary equipmentoperations
    • Experienced in reading blueprints,P&ID's, and schematicspecifications
    • Manage critical events andprioritize tasks for completion at times during emergency,providing clear directions in operational, safety and environmentaltasks
    • Respond to operational alarms, takingimmediate corrective action
    • Demonstrate solidunderstanding of operational best practices, including the abilityto problem solve and make sound decisions that supportsCovanta's safety and operational goals

    Position Requirements& Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma orequivalent
    • Requires MA 2nd Engineerslicense
    • Successful completion of ASME QROProvisional Licensing exam required within the first year ofholding the position
    • Must be able to work 12hour rotating shifts.
