Carpentry Manager


Department:

Reports To:
Operation Director


Summary:


The Carpentry Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of carpentry projects within a construction or facilities management environment.

This includes planning, scheduling, staffing, budgeting, execution, quality control, and safety compliance for a range of carpentry-related work.


Key Responsibilities:

Planning and Scheduling:


  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project requirements to develop detailed carpentry work plans and timelines.
  • Coordinate carpentry activities with other trades and project stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and minimize delays.
  • Estimate labor and material costs, create budgets, and monitor expenses throughout projects.
  • Procure necessary materials, tools, and equipment.

Team Management:


  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of carpenters and other assigned personnel.
  • Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and provide clear instructions to team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide training and support development opportunities.
  • Address any performance or disciplinary issues in line with company policies.

Project Execution and Quality Assurance:

  • Oversee the daily execution of carpentry work, ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, and building codes.
  • Ensure high standards of workmanship and implement quality control measures.
  • Troubleshoot issues, identify solutions, and make onsite decisions to keep projects on track.
  • Inspect completed work for compliance and quality before signoff.

Safety and Compliance:


  • Enforce strict adherence to company and industry safety regulations.
  • Conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and ensure the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Stay updated on relevant building codes and industry standards.

Documentation and Reporting:


  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, material usage, time sheets, project progress, and safety incidents.
  • Prepare regular reports for management on project status and budget updates.

Qualifications:

Education:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal training or apprenticeship in carpentry preferred.
  • Project management or construction management certification is an advantage.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in carpentry, with at least 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing carpentry projects within budget and schedule.

Skills:


  • Extensive knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
  • Strong understanding of blueprints, specifications, and building codes.
  • Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficient in budgeting and cost control.
  • Strong focus on safety and quality.

Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, lift heavy objects, and work in various weather conditions.

Salary:
AED7, AED15,000.00 per month

  • Carpentry: 5 years (required)
