Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis:

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments to diagnose and treat a range of mental health disorders.
• Develop personalized treatment plans based on clinical evaluations.

Medication Management:

• Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
• Educate patients and their families on medication options, benefits, and potential side effects.

Psychotherapy:

• Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy using evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
• Foster a therapeutic alliance with patients to support their mental health and well-being.

Collaborative Care:

• Work closely with psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in case conferences and treatment planning meetings.

Crisis Intervention:

• Respond to psychiatric emergencies and provide timely crisis intervention.
• Collaborate with emergency services and other medical professionals for coordinated care.

Patient Education:

• Educate patients about their mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
• Advocate for mental health awareness and contribute to destigmatizing mental health issues.

Qualifications:

• Medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Psychiatry.
• Valid DOH medical license to practice in Abu Dhabi.
• Years of post-residency experience in psychiatry.
• Proficiency in evidence-based psychotherapeutic techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills

• Knowledge of mental health regulations and standards in Abu Dhabi.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying informed about advancements in psychiatry.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural and diverse healthcare environment.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
