Today, we deliver hundreds of millions of food orders, grocery items and other products per year, to our customers in nine countries throughout the region with more than 3,000+ employees Our food delivery business works with over 27,000 brands and almost 50,000 branches, while our q-commerce concept, talabat mart, now delivers groceries to customers in Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman Qatar, and the UAE in 30 minutes or less

What's On Your Plate?

People:

Manage and develop 13 designers
Having impact through people by developing great relationships with designers, helping and challenging them to succeed
Provide clear feedback and coaching to designers
Ensure designers have clear goals that support them in delivering impactful work
Help designers to understand our wider mission and vision
Manage designers effectively by helping them achieve maximum impact with minimum effort
Onboard new designers to understand our philosophy, process, and values
Ensure designers are aligned with our beliefs and process to ship high quality work quickly
Represent Talabat in blog posts, public speaking
Know, show, help designers
Understand the philosophy and guidance of leadership

Product:

Develop deep domain knowledge of your squad's service area and team up with your product manager / lead to solve the toughest problems.
Design for you isn't just pretty interfaces you'll spend a lot more time understanding the problem space through generative research, synthesizing insights, running ideation sessions/workshops to design a delightful customer service experience.
Understand and embody how we design and build product
Have impact and influence the direct product team(s) where designers reporting to you work
Deliver design in support of team goals and OKR items
Collaborate with other functions within your product team
Work with product leads to articulate the vision and evolution of the product/discipline area for the next quarter
Understand and execute on established product direction
Understand where the team is at, any gaps, planned next steps, and clearly communicate these to designers

Design Craft:

Think in terms of scalable systems, not just oneoff solutions.
Meet the bar for delivery of design work within your design team
Connect with the craft of design, especially highquality, modern design/research
Give useful design feedback in a clear, respectful way

What Did We Order?

6+ years of experience in digital product design, with 2+ years of people leadership experience managing product designers
Experience with building, hiring and mentoring high performing teams
You have a transparent, candid and constructive approach to feedback with a keen ability to identify areas of opportunity and improvement
Track record of delivering business impact, and can speak to design decisions that drive meaningful product value
Strong understanding of how engineering, analytics, and user research intersects with design
You have a portfolio of relevant design work, performed by you and teams you've led, that demonstrates ability to create products that people love
