Midwestmulti-disciplined engineering firm is looking to add aDevelopment Assistance Engineer to theirChicagoTeam

Responsibilities:

• Provide generalmunicipal engineering services for multipleclients
  
• Assistwith negotiations for agreements and preparation of municipalbudgets
  
• Prepare/submitpermits for local municipal projects and assess needs for permitsfrom otheragencies
  
• Serveas part-time municipal staff engineer withneeded
  
• Ensuredevelopment plans are compliant with local requirements (stormwatermanagement, grading, sanitary sewers, water lines andtransportationaspects)
  
• Usetechnical skills to provide recommendations forimprovement
  
• Prepare writtenreports
  
• PerformQA/QC review to ensure projects meetstandards
  
• Respondto inquiries from staff, developers anddesigners
  
• Preparereviewprocedures
  
• Coordinateconstruction notifications, start-up requirements and projectcloseouts
  
• Explaintechnical issues to non-technical municipal staff, officials andresidents

Requirements:

• in CivilEngineer
  
• 3+years of designing or reviewing developmentsubmittals
  
• EITpreferred with ability to receive PE License within twoyears
  
• Knowledgeof basic principles/experience with stormwater management, waterdistribution, wastewater collection systems, transportationfacilities (parking, roadway design, pedestrian/bicyclefacilities), site/subdivision development design/review and siteconstruction
  
• Experienceworking with local government staff/officials and outside permitagencies
  
• Requires travelthroughout Northeastern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin usingowntransportation
