Pastry Chef (Demi)


Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

Pastry Preparation:

Prepare and produce a wide range of pastry items, including but not limited to desserts, pastries, breads, cakes, and plated desserts, in accordance with established recipes and standards.


Creative Input:

Collaborate with the pastry team and the executive chef to develop new pastry items, seasonal specials, and innovative presentations that align with the restaurant's concept and vision.


Quality Control:

Ensure that all pastry items leaving the kitchen are of the highest quality in terms of taste, texture, and presentation.

Conduct regular quality checks to maintain consistency.


Station Management:
Oversee and manage the pastry station, including organization, cleanliness, and proper utilization of equipment. Maintain a tidy and efficient workstation throughout service.


Recipe Adherence:
Follow standardized recipes and techniques to maintain consistency in taste and presentation. Additionally, contribute to the creation and refinement of recipe cards as needed.


Training and Development:

Assist in training junior pastry staff members, imparting pastry skills, techniques, and knowledge to ensure a cohesive and skilled team.


Ordering and Inventory:
Participate in inventory management by monitoring pastry ingredient levels, placing orders, and minimizing wastage.


Adherence to Safety and Hygiene:

Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring that the pastry station complies with health regulations and guidelines.


Efficiency and Speed:
Execute pastry dishes efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining high standards and minimizing wait times for customers.


Collaboration:

Communicate effectively with the pastry team, as well as other kitchen staff, to ensure smooth operations and efficient service.


  • Qualifications:
  • Proven experience working in a pastryfocused role within a professional kitchen environment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification in pastry and baking arts is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, including baking, chocolate work, sugar work, and dessert plating.
  • Creativity and ability to conceptualize and execute innovative pastry offerings.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Willingness to stay updated with industry trends and techniques.

Salary:
AED2, AED3,000.00 per month


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
