- Oversight and monitoring over general and trade accounting function;
- Monthly closing procedures, Analysis and commentary
- Preparation and regular control over the monthly/quarterly/yearly reporting under IFRS and timely reporting to the Head Office;
- Reconciliation of intercompany positions
- Researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance and ad hoc analytical reviews of trades and flows, financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings.
- Weekly review and control of receivables ageing reports
- Responsible for internal/external audits
- Reconciliation of bank accounts to the bank statements
- Monitor Payments
- Compliance: Stay current with local and international financial regulations, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings and liaise with external auditors as necessary.
- Billing, expense reports
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and sales, to gather financial data and support overall business objectives.
- Derivatives transactions (futures, swaps, OTC) verification and posting
- Gather, analyze and assort various supporting documents, communicate with Operations and Trading desks;
- Create purchase and sales orders, good movements and cost accruals of the commodities with correct allocation in system
- Monitor the stock movement of the commodities and posting related entries into the SAP accounting system;
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional chartered accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller (5+ years) in a similar role within a large, medium-sized company or an external audit company.
- Experience in Oil & Gas commodity trading is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Languages: English is a must, Other European languages such as Russian, Portuguese/Spanish, French) is a plus.
- Currently based in / or willing to relocate to Dubai, UAE.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in an energy trading environment OR similar. As the business continues to expand from strength to strength, the financial controller will have the responsibility to maintain the company's accounting records and prepare financial reports. This position involves supervision over general accounting, trade accounting, cost accounting, and closing of the month procedures as well as any other related accounting responsibilities.
