Job Description — Estimation Engineer (Infrastructure Projects)
Role Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Estimation Engineer to prepare accurate cost estimates and BOQs for infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, utilities, drainage, and civil works. The role involves quantity take-offs, cost analysis, budgeting, and coordination with project and site teams to ensure financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Estimation & BOQ Preparation
- Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) based on drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Perform quantity take-offs for roads, bridges, utilities, drainage, and associated civil works.
- Analyze project scope and identify cost risks and opportunities.
- Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for pricing accuracy.
Cost Planning & Budget Control
- Develop project cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor project budget utilization throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track variations and recommend cost-effective solutions.
Billing & Payment Certification
- Evaluate and verify interim payment applications submitted by contractors.
- Assist in preparation and closure of final accounts.
- Maintain measurement records and supporting documentation.
Variations & Claims Management
- Prepare variation orders and analyze contractual claims.
- Maintain variation registers and cost impact reports.
- Support dispute resolution with proper cost justification.
Contract Administration
- Assist in reviewing contract terms and ensuring compliance.
- Support tender evaluation and bid comparisons.
- Maintain contractual documentation and audit records.
Site Coordination
- Conduct site measurements and verify executed quantities.
- Coordinate with site engineers and project managers for work certification.
- Ensure alignment between site execution and estimated quantities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- 5–14 years of experience in infrastructure or civil construction projects
