The Faculty at HCT is currently recruiting for the Fall Semester 2023 which will commence around early August 2023. We are recruiting for the HCT system of 16 Campuses all over the UAE. The vacancies within the faculty are for Lecturers, and Senior Lecturers (case to case basis).


Job Purpose


The Nursing Program Lecturer will be responsible for developing and delivering lectures and assessments for nursing courses in the nursing program.

Will work closely with other faculty members to ensure that the curriculum is current, relevant, and meets the program's objectives.

Fundamentals of Nursing (Theory), Fundamentals of Nursing (Practice), History Taking and Physical Assessment, Communication and Health Education Skills, Pathophysiology, Microbiology, Clinical Pharmacology, Adult Health Nursing I (Theory), Social and Behavioral Sciences for Nursing, Adult Health Nursing I (Practice), Adult Health Nursing II (Theory), Adult Health Nursing II (Practice), Maternal Health Nursing and Care of the Newborn (Theory), Maternal Health Nursing and Care of the Newborn (Practice), Mental Health Nursing (Theory), Mental Health Nursing (Practice), Child and Adolescent Health Nursing (Theory), Child and Adolescent Health Nursing (Practice), Ethical and Legal Issues in Nursing, Community Health Nursing (Theory), Community Health Nursing (Practice), Evidence

  • Based Practice, Management of Individuals with Complex Health Needs (Practice), Management of Individuals with Complex Health Needs (Theory), Leadership and Quality Management in Nursing, Nursing Informatics, Consolidated Nursing Practice.

Key Accountabilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops and delivers lectures and assessments for nursing courses in the higher college's nursing program in order to provide students with the knowledge, skills and competencies that meet national and international nursing standards to deliver safe, quality care and optimize health for individuals, families and communities.
  • Develops course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional materials which include knowledge base that examines the fields of: acute and chronic medical / surgical nursing; maternal and newborn health; child and adolescent health; mental health; care of the patient with complex and high dependency health needs; and community health.
  • Develops and implements, program policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Collaborates with other faculty members and program coordinators to ensure that the curriculum is current, relevant, and meets the program's objectives.
  • Creates and grades assignments, exams, and other assessments.
  • Maintains accurate and uptodate records of student attendance, grades, and other academic information.
  • Provides feedback and supports to students to help them achieve their academic and professional goals. Maintains open communication with students about their performance in the program.
  • Offers support to students outside of class, such as office hours or online discussion forums, to help them succeed in the course.
  • Stays uptodate with industry developments and trends to ensure that the program remains relevant and competitive. Conducts research to ensure that program content is uptodate and relevant.
  • Attends faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and other higher college events as required.
  • Serves as an academic advisor to students and participate in other studentcentered activities.
  • Participates in program and department meetings to discuss curriculum, assessment, and other academic issues.
  • Participates in universitywide committees or initiatives related to teaching and learning, to help promote best practices and improve student outcomes.
  • Serves as a mentor to other faculty members or student teachers, offering guidance and support on teaching practices and pedagogy.
  • Perform any other relevant task as directed by direct superior.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations and/or Experience
Academic background includes a minimum of a bachelor's and Master's degree in Nursing. PhD in Nursing is a plus.

Mandatory 3 years of specialized clinical experience in the field of Nursing

Minimum of 5 years of Teaching and/or industrial and specialized clinical experience Preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of university level teaching experience


Licenses/Certificates:
Preferred diploma or a certificate in education


Language Skills
English communications and presentation skills are a must.
