    Description

    PURPOSE OF THEROLE:

    We are seeking a highlyqualified Safety Officer to join our team and ensure the higheststandards of Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE) aremaintained at our workplace. The Safety Officer will play acritical role in implementing and monitoring safety protocols toprevent accidents injuries and healthhazards.

    JOBRESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Ensurecompliance with all applicable HSSE regulations standards andguidelines to create a safe and healthy workenvironment.
    2. Conduct regular inspections ofpremises equipment and work processes to identify potential hazardsunsafe conditions andnonconformities.
    3. Collaborate with departmentheads and employees to develop and implement effective safetypolicies procedures and emergency responseplans.
    4. Provide training to employees on safetyprotocols hazard identification risk assessment and use of personalprotective equipment (PPE).
    5. Investigateaccidents incidents and near misses to determine root causes anddevelop corrective actions to preventrecurrence.
    6. Maintain accurate records of safetyinspections incidents training sessions and safetyrelateddocumentation.
    7. Oversee the safe handlingstorage transportation and disposal of hazardous materials andsubstances in compliance with regulatoryrequirements.
    8. Monitor and evaluate theeffectiveness of safety programs and initiatives through regularaudits performance metrics and feedbackmechanisms.
    9. Liaise with regulatory agenciescontractors and other stakeholders on safetyrelated matters andensure timely reporting of incidents asrequired.
    10. Stay updated on industry bestpractices emerging trends and regulatory changes in occupationalhealth andsafety.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelorsdegree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental ScienceEngineering or a related field.
    • NEBOSH Level 3certification or equivalent required.
    • Minimumof 10 years of experience in occupational health and safetypreferably in a highrisk industry such as constructionmanufacturing or oil and gas.
    • Proven trackrecord of implementing and managing safety programs policies andprocedures.
    • Strong knowledge of relevant HSSEregulations standards and guidelines (e.g. OSHA NEBOSHANSI).
    • Excellent communication skills with theability to engage and influence employees at all levels of theorganization.
    • Proficient in conducting safetyinspections risk assessments incident investigations and safetytraining sessions.
    • Ability to workindependently prioritize tasks and handle multiple projectssimultaneously.
    • Strong analytical skills withattention to detail and a proactive approach toproblemsolving.
    • Certification in First Aid CPRand Fire Safetypreferred.
