    OverviewUTEC, part of Acteon Group, is one of the world's largest independent offshore and onshore survey providers. We provide a wide range of survey, positioning and data management services using the most advanced equipment and techniques. The data we generate provides our clients with the information they need to make critical, well informed, business decisions. UTEC is currently seeking to hire a Senior Survey Engineer on a full-time, permanent basis for their Offshore team.

    The Senior Survey Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all engineering work carried out on site is conducted in the best interests of UTEC and the Client and meets all project safety, contractual and quality requirements.

    The Senior Survey Engineer shall also ensure that all equipment received to the vessel is configured correctly and calibrations and certification is kept up to date.

    ResponsibilitiesExperience of all types of Survey sensors used across a different range of job / operationAbility to understand sensor pinout / wiring diagrams, how to interface equipment and sensors through survey vehicles into the online systemUnderstanding of basic electronics, demonstrate understanding of commonly used electronic symbols and wiring principlesKnowledge and understanding of IT and general networking solutions.

    How to setup a dedicated survey network and interface survey sensors to onlineGood knowledge of different data protocols used with survey sensors, serial 232, 422, 485 protocols, ethernet comms, fibre opticExperience of CCTV and video systems.

    Setting up video distribution on board vesselsAbility to problem solve and fault find issues with equipment. Demonstrate good problem-solving practices and show common sense logical thinking to identify problemsAbility to make up and terminate all types of cabling, using specific tools, for interfacing, antenna cabling, network cabling, serial cabling, video cabling, ROV / survey sensor cablingAbility to create vessel wiring diagrams, setup notes in relevant software packagesMaintain, service, calibrate equipment used in offshore survey operationsKeep vessel inventories, manifests, equipment certification up to dateKnowledge of data storage systemsKnowledge of online software packages, interfacing survey sensors to online systems and testingAbility to perform online and operate software during operationsConduct personnel performance reviews / appraisals for your direct reportsPerform other duties or tasks as assignedRequirementsEducation in Electronics / Electrical / Mechatronics degree are desiredMore than 5 Years relevant industry experience is essential in offshore survey as Senior Survey Engineer roleTechnical understanding and knowledge of major survey equipment and software used in the offshore survey sectorExcellent Written and Verbal communication skillsAnalytical and problem-solving skillsAble to work in a team environmentAble to work Online back-to-back with that Surveyor in case requiredFully vaccinated against COVID-19, having received both initial jabs and booster shotsLocation: Abu Dhabi
