    Overview

    We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Field Sales Specialist (Middle East Region) to join a team of experienced sales and market development professionals to deliver on our commercial targets.

    The successful candidate will collaborate with the internal and channel teams to address the needs of each customer and deliver outstanding account management support.

    Responsibilities

    The Field Sales Specialist will work with other experienced professionals as part of a global team to actively drive growth and awareness of Oxford Nanopore Technologies' products. The successful candidate will be responsible, along with the sales team for the region, for implementing a strategic business plan and delivering to agreed commercial targets within the Territory.

    This role will focus on driving sales growth through established dealer networks and new customers in the Middle East region. The position will be supported by the Customer Service, Technical Support and operations team.

    To achieve role objectives, you will be expected to undertake at least 50% travel and be in the United Arab Emirates.

    Other responsibilities include:

    • Identifying new opportunities and drive sales in existing accounts within the territory
    • Managing key customer relationships across broad fields of research interest
    • Understanding of funding cycles and the decision-making process in the territory
    • Delivering to the agreed commercial targets for MinION, GridION and PromethION systems
    • Adhering to best practices for tracking, recording, and documenting relevant commercial intelligence from all customer interactions.

    Qualifications

    • A BSc degree and/or Masters (preferably in Life Sciences or in Genetics), a PhD may be advantageous but isn't required for the role.
    • You will have prior 5-7 years of genomics sales experience, preferably field sales and have worked with research/clinical life sciences, genomics customers.
    • You will have an understanding of current DNA sequencing technologies and their applications, strong communication and influencing skills and knowledge of the Life Sciences and Genomics market
    • Fluent in English & Arabic national language (both written/spoken) is must.
    • You will be an excellent team player and able to build positive relationships with others. Ideally, you have experience of working in a global team, and you're comfortable in a fast-paced environment
    • You have a positive approach with a can-do mindset and are able to use your initiative as well as exercise good judgement and tact.
