Job Description
The Rig Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of an oil or gas drilling rig. They coordinate drilling activities, manage the rig crew, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational protocols.

The Rig Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining efficient and productive drilling operations while prioritizing the safety and well-being of the crew.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee all drilling activities on the rig, including drilling, casing, and cementing operations.
• Manage the rig crew, including hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating personnel.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols, performing regular safety inspections and promoting a safety-first culture.
• Review and approve drilling procedures, operational plans, and rig equipment maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with drilling engineers and geologists to optimize drilling efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Monitor drilling progress and make adjustments to drilling parameters as necessary.
• Manage inventory and procurement of necessary drilling equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records of drilling operations, including daily reports, equipment inspections, and incident reports.
• Maintain effective communication and collaboration with drilling contractors, service providers, and regulatory authorities.
• Stay informed about industry best practices, new technologies, and regulations related to drilling operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Rig Manager or similar role, with hands-on experience in drilling operations.
• Strong knowledge of drilling techniques, rig equipment, and industry safety standards.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in physically demanding and challenging environments, often in remote locations.
