- Performs daily husbandry tasksincluding administration of vitamins and medication asdirected
- Prepares food, provides propernutrition and constant care ofanimals
- Maintains a safe, appropriate andsanitary living conditions for all animalhabitats
- Learns behavior modificationtechniques under the supervision of more experienced colleagues.This includes but is not limited to the training of behaviors tocompletion, proactively maintaining conditioned behavior, and theability to form relationships with assignedanimals.
- Ensures guests, personal, andanimals' safety through constant monitoring of thebehavioral precursors of potentially harmful behavior by bothanimals and people.
- Provides proactive guestservices through guest interactions, animal presentation andprograms in the assigned area, and responding to guestinquiries.
- Performs assigned roles in educationand general public programs, and guest interactionprograms
- Makes daily observations of animalsand reports any abnormalities to the leadershipteam
- Maintains all animal records, equipment,area responsibilities, and communication requirements on a dailybasis
- Functions as Ambassador by displayingconsideration, tolerance, cooperation, open communication, andreliability; maintains a consistent attitude, motivation, andability to accept feedback
- Ensures allpolicies, guidelines, manuals and SOPs are followed at alltimes
- Consistently practices safe work habitsincluding, but not limited to the use of personal protectiveequipment, lifting and reporting of unsafesituations
- Participates on the requiredtrainings and maintains profession development andcompetencies
- Performs other duties as directedby the leadership
