- Verifiesand reviews the architecture of new IT projects and theirintegration within the existing structure.
- Prepare strategic andoperational plans for the IT Infrastructure and Core Technology(ICT) department to ensure that all necessary ICT tools, processesand systems are in place to meet the requirements of the academiabusiness and contribute to the achievement of short and long termgoals of the University.
- Manage and provide oversight for theimplementation of an ICT security strategy and disaster recoveryplan that minimizes the risk of data loss and breach of privacy ofthe University's information.
- Develop and manage theplanning and budgeting for the University's ICT services toensure that resources are used to provide best in class ICTservices that are in line with organizational growth.
- Directs,controls and motivates the staff of the Information Core Technologydepartment.
- Negotiates service level agreements with bothinternal and external customers and service providers and monitorservice delivery to ensure the agreed targets and standards aremet.
- Accountable for the management, mentoring and careerdevelopment of all IT staff.
- Defines and approves the level of ITresources required to meet these goals and priorities and schedulesmajor projects.
- Directs the preparation and implementation ofpolicies, procedures and standards relating to information andtelecommunication systems.
