    Description

    The Senior Material Engineer will be responsible for selecting, testing, and managing construction materials to ensure the safety, durability, and cost-effectiveness of the projects.

    Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • The ideal candidate will have expertise in sourcing and evaluating materials, in-depth knowledge of material properties, and experience working with parks structures.
    • Select and specify appropriate construction materials (e.g., concrete, steel, aggregates, furniture, play and fitness equipment, composite materials, Coating …etc.  for the project.
    • Evaluate the performance of materials under different environmental conditions to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety regulations.
    • Conduct material tests (compression, tensile, durability, and chemical testing) to validate the quality and suitability of materials.
    • Ensure all materials meet local and international standards, including ASTM, BS, and ISO requirements.
    • Coordinate with third-party testing agencies to validate test results and issue compliance certificates.
    • Evaluate and approve suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
    • Monitor material delivery schedules and resolve any supply chain issues that may impact project timelines.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure proper handling, storage, and use of materials according to the project requirements.


    Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Material Science, or a related discipline holding Attested university certificate.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Material Engineer in large-scale construction projects.
    • Proficiency in material testing procedures and standards (e.g., ASTM, BS, ACI).
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Strong knowledge of construction practices, codes, and regulations.
