About this role

  • Develop and oversee the management of all operational, HSE audits and training activities;
  • Review and endorse all HSE inputs on tender documents for all projects;
  • Establish and implement short and long term HSE goals and objectives for Operational, HSE trainings and audits;
  • Coordinate with the departments for setting Company's HSE targets and objectives;
  • Review and update HSEMS / EMS manuals to ensure compliance with OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 and local & international HSE legislations;
  • Prepare budget for HSE Operations, HSE training & audit and monitor the expenditures to remain within the allocated budget;
  • Ensure that Corporate HSEMS / ISM / EMS (ISO and OHSAS 18001 audits are conducted;
  • Ensure regular audits and/or inspection of subcontractor's personnel, sites and activities;
  • Lead the conduction of Behavioural Safety Audits (BSA) and highprofile tours as per HSEMS guidelines;
  • Managing, coordinating and providing support services to the HSE Manager for all operational and technical HSE matters related to, Occupational Health, Safety and Environment with the objective of Total Loss Control;
  • Promoting high level of HSE awareness amongst all employees through structured HSE training and audit;
  • Analysing and assessing all risks associated with activities that are carried out in all operations;
  • Ensuring the conduction of proper HSE audits for operational activities and subcontractors;
  • Attend Clients & Subcontractor's HSE meetings to provide clarification and negotiate positions of project HSE issues for preaward & post contract awards;
  • Represent the company in Clients' / Subcontractors' HSE meetings and HSE conferences;
  • Supervise, train and appraise subordinates;
  • Direct risk assessments for all critical activities;
  • Develop, approve and assess company's HSE incentive schemes;
  • Liaise with HSE Team Leaders in executing HSE Operational Objectives and Programs, HSE audits and trainings;
  • Manage and direct the operational activities of the HSE, fire and emergency response teams;
  • Ensure that the HSE established policies and procedures achieve the desired results while being consistent with the Company's HSE Goals and objectives from a business perspective;
  • Develop 'Term of Reference' (TOR) for Company's related major incidents and participate in Management investigations;
  • Act as a focal point in communication with local authorities and neighbouring organizations.

What you need to bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with NEBOSH IGC Certificate and Lead Auditor ISO 45001;
  • Should have at least 15 years' experience and extensive background in offshore construction projects;
  • Previous experience in ARAMCO or ADNOC projects will be of added advantage;
  • Diploma in Safety Management (DipSM) and/or NEBOSH/IOSH diploma or equivalent;
  • Certification in HSE audit is preferable;
  • 13 years construction HSE experience in the oil and gas industry related to both onshore and offshore operations;
  • 8 years managerial/supervisory experience in HSE with strong managerial potential;
  • Knowledge in local & international HSE laws and regulations;
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic is a distinct advantage;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Ability to represent the Company in high level conferences and meetings;
  • Ability to operate effectively in a multinational work environment;
