    Description


    •Provides screening, consultation,comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, intervention and treatment ofspeech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders topatients.


    •Utilizes Evidence BasedPractice and International Clinical Guidelines to providetherapeutic intervention allowing for the development of skills,implementation of strategies and refinement oftechniques.


    •Performs controlled therapysessions with individuals, groups and/or family members in avariety of clinical setting settings including inpatient,outpatient, community and educationenvironments.


    •Assesses patienthistories and identifies the underlying causes for the speech andlanguage impairment that are affecting patients, such as congenitalor developmental disorders and/or acquired braininjuries.


    •Works with patients acrossmultiple age groups to facilitate the treatment of speech andlanguage disorders including but not limited to stammers, stutters,dysphonia, swallowing disorders and speech delay due to hearingloss.


    •Provides advice, education andsupport to patients and their family members on appropriatetreatment plans.


    •Devises effectivetherapy plans in association with other healthcare professionalsand patients' familymembers.


    •Develops and implements highlyspecialized speech and language therapy treatment programs tofacilitate the recovery of speech, language and swallowingfunction.


    •Tracks patients'progress and maintains comprehensive treatmentrecords.


    •Create and maintain clinicaldocuments, ensuring they are accurate, completed in a timely mannerand reflect specific information and services provided to thepatient.


    •Participates in conferencesand trainings to share knowledge of new hearing/speech disordertreatment methods and technologies.

    Quality Assurance and ServiceImprovement


    •Assistsin designing and implementing clinical programs, initiatives andservices to ensure patient safety and quality healthcaredelivery.

    People /Self-Management


    •Provides supervision,guidance, on the job training and shares continuous constructivefeedback for direct reports ifrequired.


    •Pro-actively identifies andmeets self-development requirements for professional growth bydeveloping and sustaining own knowledge, clinical skills andprofessional awareness.


    •Maintains therequired Continuous Medical Education (CME) hours in compliancewith DOH/DHA regulations.
