If you are an experienced professional looking to grow in the space of IR4.0, the Measurement Solutions Business Unit has an exciting opportunity for a SOLUTION ARCHITECT AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER.

The position will give you an opportunity to be the technical authority for designing Pervasive Sensing solutions and lead specific business development activity across MEA.

Based in Dubai, the role will be responsible for the Middle East and Africa.

**Roles & Responsibilities:
Solutions Architecture

  • This role will be the technical authority and be responsible for validating the Emerson solution proposed/delivered to the Client.
  • Work closely with the Sales, BDM, Proposal & Execution organization to provide technical leadership on deploying Wireless and Analytics solutions for Industrial Automation.
  • Active involvement in the complete project lifecycle to ensure technical viability of offered solution; Project Stages
  • Opportunity Identification, Pre-FEED, FEED, Execute & Operational.
  • Lead the creation of IT/OT integration strategies that are viable and aligned with business strategies.
  • Lead or participate in client meetings to understand site requirements (or deployment challenges) and effectively communicate how Emerson can comply with Plant policies.
  • Design and lead the solutions implementation library for developed measurement solutions.
  • Be the adviser for project execution, including advising on the following:
  • The best technology solution to be used within the Emerson portfolio for the project.
  • Use of thirdparty solutions.
  • The commercial and technical risk associated with work being performed.
  • As required, develop and maintain relationships with key third parties and influencers, such as vendors of complementary technologies, standards organizations, or technology communities.
  • Participate in and lead client support activities such as Surveillance visits, troubleshooting/support call resolution, system modifications and training related to areas of technical expertise.
  • Organize internal knowledge sharing undertake regular knowledge updates to the MEA Engineering/Proposal team.
  • Provide a central point of contact for technical expertise in your areas of expertise.
  • Solution Architecture should demonstrate a strong understanding of Industrial OT & IT networks.
  • Appreciation of or ability to acquire a working knowledge of the following technologies.
  • Relevant Measurement Solutions technologies, including
  • Field Process Measurement Sensors (level, flow, pressure, temperature, analytical)
  • Asset Monitoring Sensors (Vibration, Acoustic, Corrosion, etc.)
  • Location Awareness
  • Integration and Connectivity Protocols, including networking
  • Networking, Communications and Cybersecurity
  • Connected Services (data diodes, 3G/4G etc.)
  • Wireless Field Networks (WirelessHART/ISA100/LoRaWan)
  • Wireless Plant Network (Industrial Wifi)
  • Network Design, Integration, Cybersecurity
  • Cloud Architecture (Microsoft Azure, etc.)
  • Understand, advocate, and augment principles of IT/OT strategies, integration and connectivity as related to Measurement Solution Strategies.
  • Collaborate with the relevant Product Teams to deliver a robust solution and necessary feedback to the factory on Product development roadmap
  • Understand plant drivers to determine field information requirements and the technical architecture required to route that data to automation systems, enterprise systems, or the cloud.

Business Development

  • Actively generate leads and collaborate with Regional Sales resources, Key Account Managers, and other influencers on leadgeneration activities.
  • Identify, qualify, influence, and develop new opportunities for targeted Industries / Products / Countries.
  • Engage with Digital Transformation teams of Key Customer Accounts to develop a vision/roadmap for implementation for IIoT Sensors, Wireless Infrastructure & Analytics.
  • Conduct client presentations at Mid-Management and Senior management levels. Present Technical solutions in a suitable form, in a way easily understood by nontechnical personnel, competently bridging the gap between IT, OT and site business leaders.
  • Understanding business needs and translating them into technical or technology requirements
  • Support Project Pursuit teams to create a vision for Digital Solutions in FEED & EPC project stages.
  • Analyze and Quantify Business Benefits from introducing specific new technologies on a Greenfield or Brownfield Project.
  • Position Emerson as a Thought Leader by participating/presenting in Industry Technical forums.
  • Assist in developing relevant sales support material.
  • Develop content (white papers, methodologies, articles, internal training etc.)

Job Requirements:


  • Degree in STEM
  • Minimum 8, preferably 10 years of industry
