    • Jobpurpose: The Dean is the chief academic andadministrative officer of the College who reports to the ViceChancellor for Academic Affairs; the Dean will provide academicleadership and discharge administrative responsibilities in respectto faculty, staff, resources and student matters. He/she shallprovide leadership of the strategic, programmatic, financial,fundraising, and management operations that support the mission andvision of the College in alignment with the University'smission, vision and strategic plan.
    • Qualifications:AU seeks an outstanding leader and communicator eager to workcollegially within the College and the University and who displaysa strong commitment to liberal arts education for a diverse studentbody. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Pharmacy or arelated discipline. He/she must have a significant administrativeexperience and a distinguished record of teaching, research, andservice; preferably holding the rank of fullProfessor.
    • DutiesandResponsibilities:

    The Dean's duties and responsibilitiesinclude:

    1. Promotingthe College's strategic vision and distinctivecharacteristics, accomplishments and aspirations to allconstituencies, ensuring that the public perception of the Collegealigns with its ambitious goals to continue to attract the best andbrightest students, faculty and staff and to produce graduates ofthe highestcaliber.
    2. Leading andoverseeing the development, enhancement and continuous assessmentof programs, curricula and study plans in thecollege.
    3. Providing aconducive environment that promotes faculty excellence in teaching,advising, research andservice.
    4. Leading thepursuit of various required national and internationalaccreditation and relatedactivities.
    5. Providingrecommendations to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs onhiring, promotion, and performance evaluation of faculty membersand staff.
    6. Facilitatingprofessional development for faculty and staff in theCollege.
    7. Enhancing andextending relationships with industry, government, business andother education and research institutions locally andabroad.
    8. Leading andparticipating in fundraising activities to theCollege.
    9. Supporting andinitiating activities for student recruitment and retention.
    10. Managing the budget andresources available to the college and ensuring the financialwell-being of the College.
