- Design, develop, and implement robotic actuators, manipulators, and mechanical mechanisms for complex applications
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings, ensuring manufacturability and assembly efficiency
- Perform FEM/FEA simulations to validate structural integrity, thermal behavior, and performance under demanding conditions
- Lead rapid prototyping efforts, iterating quickly to develop and validate MVPs and functional prototypes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transition designs from prototype to production
- Optimize designs for cost, time, and scalability, considering global and local manufacturing markets
- Develop mechanical structures and robotic systems capable of operating in extreme environments (e.g., high stress, temperature, pressure, vibration, corrosive or remote conditions)
- Select and apply appropriate materials based on mechanical, thermal, environmental, and cost requirements
- Support manufacturing partners with technical documentation, testing procedures, and design refinements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Extensive experience in robotics actuator and manipulator design
- Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD tools and finite element analysis (FEM/FEA)
- Proven experience in rapid prototyping, MVP development, and iterative design cycles
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chains, and cost-effective production strategies
- Demonstrated expertise in designing mechanical systems for extreme or harsh environments
- Deep knowledge of engineering materials and their real-world applications
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
- 3+ years working within the aerospace industry or related field
- Experience with custom actuator design, precision mechanisms, or high-performance robotics
- Familiarity with additive manufacturing and advanced fabrication techniques
- Background in product development from concept to production
