    CoreFunctions

    The primary functionof an assembly technician is to carry out operations related to theproduction of bearing assemblies. This includes, but is not limitedto, pre-assembly inspection, assembly, preload, utility, etch(marking), final inspection, lube andpackaging.

    Assembler: Perform diversified handand bench assembly and measuring operations to assemble a widevariety of sizes and types of precision ball and roller bearingsand related items to required specifications within limitations ofaccepted practices. Components delivered to area byothers.

    • Preload: Performdiversified preload operating and grinding duties to meet specifiedcompany/customer bearing preload and grindingspecifications/requirements within the limitations of acceptedpractices. Plan preload sequence, measure parts and/or componentsand make necessary calculations. Change tooling, make setups onpreload equipment to face flushness and axial yield requirements,stack height with micrometers, and greased assembledbearings.
    • In-Process Inspector: Perform any/allin-process inspections and bench inspections determinations on themanufacturing floor and Pre-Assembly or Assembly and FinalInspection to visually and dimensionally check and inspectcomponents or assemblies in various stages within limitations ofaccredited practices.
    • Engraver: Perform variousengraving operations including simple setups for engraving variousmetal bearing components with letters, numerals and graduatingmarks suing controlled scriber engraving machines followingestablished procedures.
    • Precision Package/Lube:Perform various washing and intermediate packaging duties onassembled precision bearings for final packaging in accordance withcustomer/company requirements following established procedures.Perform all functions related to normal washings, lubrications andpackaging including SOP 65 washing, greasing and oiling, weighscales and all types of packaging, polybags, vials, envelopes,etc.
    • Precision Washer/Packager/Labeler: Performvarious printing operations on a computerized printing machine inpreparing labels, envelopes, and boxes for shipment of bearingsincluding data entry into programmed machine following establishedprocedures. Perform all requirements of aPacker/Luber.
    • Assembly Test Stand: Plan andperform diversified tool crib and mechanic duties includingordering, issuing, storing, troubleshooting, set-up, repairing, andmaintaining activities for assembly department tooling withinlimitations of accepted practice. Responsible for propermaintenance and maintaining accurate records. Order assemblytooling according to manufacturing requirements and companyspecifications.
    • Utility: Perform diversifiedsecondary assembly setup; troubleshooting duties including avariety of hand, bench and gauging operations to assemble varioussecondary bearing and components within limitations of acceptedpractices.
    • RGM Processor: Thisposition's primary function is to disposition and turnaround customer returns. Perform all White Room operationsnecessary to disassemble, rework, rebuild and reship productreturned from the customer. Including but not limited to assembly,marking, utility, inspection, lube and pack. Process all customerreturned goods documents. Maintain weekly reports. Works closelywith Quality and WRM Coordinator to meet scheduledeadlines.
    • Bearing Washer: Perform variousbearing washer duties to wash various bearings and components priorto and following final inspection following established procedures.Verify component revision letters, parts, numbers, and quality whenissued from Stockroom.
    • Documentation-Clerk-Final Inspection: Perform a variety of clerical duties andprocedures related to the entire Final Inspection area followingprescribed methods.

    General Qualifications& Experience

    • Minimum High School Diploma orequivalent; post-secondary or trades educationpreferred
    • Basic computer skills; including MSOffice (Excel, Word, Outlook)
    • Above averagemechanical aptitude and shop mathcompetencies
    • Strong ability to follow writtenand verbal work instructions
    • Problem solvingmethodology for troubleshooting
