Job Purpose:

Emirates SkyCargo is a world-class air cargo carrier, with a vast network of destinations, cutting-edge facilities, and a focus on innovation, efficiency, and sustainability.

Network Planning Controller will design, lead and execute an international express and courier network, including benchmarking against world class operational standards.

You will conceptualise and facilitate business process improvement projects and will design, establish and enhance operational performance standards and measurement techniques.


In this role, you will:

  • Conceptualise and establish operational quality performance standards in line with the division's mission to achieve strategic objectives and world class benchmarks. You will design, maintain, and enhance operational network performance measurement methods for the division to assess, maintain and enhance current levels of efficiency.
  • Conceptualise, develop, implement, maintain, and enhance an accurate forecasting model aimed at providing the following inputs to support the annual budgeting carried out by the division's management in relation to volume forecasting and capacity forecasting.
  • Lead and develop dynamic simulation and/or data model to derive insights, trends, and solutions to complex operational problems and support senior management to make strategic decisions on operational process changes, facility design changes, and commercial decisions by extracting information and transforming it into business solutions.
  • Provide conceptual and facilitative inputs to the team members, in consultation with the commercial team, on commercial and financial evaluation of plausible solutions to adopt efficient and cost effective solutions from the long, medium and short term perspectives.
  • Educate and increase awareness among department managers/supervisors on the tools, techniques and methods of the ongoing project work for continued effective participation and sustenance of new standards.
  • Conceptualise, design, lead and execute periodical internal process efficiency audits across the network to identify opportunities for process reengineering/improvements and also ensure continued compliance of process changes to achieve world class operational standards.
  • Lead, collate and analyse data on world class industry operational standards and benchmark on a regular basis through interactions with industry experts, practicing managers, scholars, etc. in order to become globally competitive.
  • Establish and review on an ongoing basis the commercial viability of all the line haul routes taking into consideration the overall risk to the organisation and the commercial advantages afforded.
  • Ensure effective network contingency measures are planned and available for execution. This includes responsibility for the development and governance of a formal Business Continuity Plan (BC), covering all aspects of network control.
  • Provide conceptual inputs on trends in automation and information technology to enable the project teams to adopt state of the art and cost effective automation.
  • Influence and interact with process owners, department heads and corporate functions such as Finance, Human Resources, and Performance Development for effective implementation of redesigned processes and recommendations of project teams for long and/or short term benefits.
