    Description

    The Proposal Engineer will play a key commercial role by developing competitive, client‑focused proposals that strengthen our sales pipeline and support business growth across ACWA Field Services and external fleet-wide opportunities.

    Key Accountabilities –

    • Update of Sales & BD databases, proposal tracker and other reporting statistics.
    • Extract data from databases and prepare presentations for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reporting needs of the Sales/BD Team.
    • Develop ready to use proposal templates for internal ACWA Customers and external customers depending on and periodically update templates to suit the array of services offered by ACWA Field Services.
    • Support commercial/proposal manager in creating and/or preparing tailored proposal for energy projects.
    • Collaborate with other, engineering, operations, supply chain, logistics and project management teams to collate costs and consolidate for estimation purposes.
    • Analyze RFQ/project specifications, technical drawings, and other relevant documentation to accurately estimate project costs timelines and risks associated with the opportunity.
    • Prepare detailed technical proposals, including scope of work, limits of scope, manpower and equipment provided, pricing, and commercial terms, in accordance with RFQ/Tender requirements and company guidelines.
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between proposal content, offered solutions and RFQ/Tender requirements.
    • Support the negotiation process by providing technical expertise and addressing customer inquiries and concerns.
    • Support Commercial and Proposal manager in preparing internal approval requests in the defined format for proposals requiring leadership approval.
    • Participate in customer meetings, presentations, and site visits as needed to gather project information and build relationships.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for differentiation and continuous improvement.
    • Contribute to process improvements and best practices within the commercial and business development function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Adhere to all relevant organisational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out to the required standard.
    Health, Safety, Security and Environment

    • Comply with all ACWA Field Services and site‑specific health, safety, security, and environmental policies and procedures.
    • Demonstrate safe engineering practices during planning and execution of works.
    • Support risk assessments, method statements, and safety documentation as required.
    Related Assignments

    • Perform any other engineering or project‑related duties as assigned by the Head of Engineering in line with business requirements.

    Learning Opportunities:

    • Gain hands‑on experience in technical support, system analysis, and vendor management.
    • Develop knowledge of gas, steam, and generator systems and their maintenance.
    • Exposure to vendor and supplier coordination, improving procurement and negotiation skills.
    • Collaborate with the commercial and operations teams on new business initiatives, gaining insight into business development.
    • Work closely with senior engineers, gaining practical experience in engineering problemsolving and project management.

    Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in any field of engineering.
    • Master's degree in any field of engineering is a plus

    Experience:

    • 3–5 years of relevant experience in engineering, power generation, rotating equipment, or industrial projects.
    • Exposure to gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, or balance‑of‑plant systems is desirable.
    • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and rotating equipment.
    • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
    • Good problem‑solving skills with a structured and methodical approach.
    • Strong coordination and communication skills to work with multiple stakeholders.
    • Ability to work under pressure during outage and shutdown activities.
    • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with engineering or planning tools is an advantage.
    • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
