    Description

    The American University in the Emirates is searching for a Student Life and Community Engagement Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the delivery of services related to campus life, student activities, grievances, scholarship, and financial aid.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Master's Degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling or related field from an accredited university
    • Minimum 5 years of related experience in an educational institution or similar environment
    • Preferably bilingual (speaks English and Arabic fluently)

    Skills / Training / Knowledge

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrates strong leadership skills.
    • Maintains a high level of confidentiality in accordance with institutional policy and ethical standards.
    • Knowledge of University programs and operations including Administrative and Academic affairs is preferred.
    • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in all interactions with students, faculty, and staff.
    • Upholds institutional codes of conduct and acts as a role model for appropriate behavior, communication, and decision-making.

    Job Description

    1. Manage and implement office goals and operational planning to ensure compliance with the university's goals and objectives.
    2. Manage the office budget.
    3. Develop and manage a high quality, responsive and flexible student support team.
    4. Manage financial support services, including financial aid, scholarships, and grants.
    5. Develop and monitor the implementation of student engagement opportunities, including new student orientation, social events, student clubs, and trips.
    6. Develop and oversee the implementation of student recognition initiatives.
    7. Oversee the development and functions of the Athletics Office.
    8. Develop and oversee community engagement opportunities.
    9. Initiate, develop, and sustain strong positive relations with student sponsors and ensure that unit responds promptly to their needs and inquiries.
    10. Oversee and facilitate the student grievance process including reviewing grievance reports, meeting with involved parties, investigating and adjudicating misconduct and other related disciplinary cases in accordance with the university's policies and procedures.
    11. Provide appropriate guidance and support to AUE Student Council, student clubs, and students as needed.
    12. Identify and secure funding from various sources to support the University mission in line with the university advancement and fundraising plan.
    13. Cultivate relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring their continued engagement and support for the institution.
    14. Perform any duties as assigned by the superiors.
