    Senior Underwriter- Marine

    How you will create an impact

    • To underwrite market sell and promote all Marine products within GCC & NA
    • This role will be responsible for Profit and Sales for the Marine divisionprimarily within UAE
    • Responsible for the profitable underwriting of new business production and renewal retention of Marine products for assigned territory developed through Brokers Direct Clients and Business Development Managers.
    What youll need to succeed


    Qualifications & Education:
    Bachelors Degree. CII qualifications would be a plus



    Experience:
    Prior experience in Marine Underwriting or Broking.


    Training:
    No mandatory external training


    Knowledge:
    Has in-depth knowledge of the Marine Insurance industry Logistics and Global Trade

    Skilled in MS Word Excel Power Point and Outlook. Power BI is a plus.

    Job Accountabilities

    Retention and New Business Development

    • Maintain and develop strong broker/client relationships
    • Regular in person meetings with brokers
    • Conduct training sessions on AIG appetite and capabilities
    • Ensure account retention rates are maintained as per company/department norms.
    • Underwrite new and renewal business to promote premium growth within UW authority.
    • Achieve overall production goal in collaboration with the Underwriting Manager
    • Provide sound underwriting decisions exhibit flexibility and price risks to achieve established profit goals for the company.
    • Provide feedback on renewal loss ratios that exceed permissible limits.
    Identify poor performing accounts and take remedial actions.

    Others

    • Ensure adherence to all corporate Marine Underwriting Guidelines
    • Ensure that all marine pricing tools are being used correctly and that all marine quotes binders and policies are issued in accordance with regulatory and corporate policies.
    • Adhere to underwriting authority & underwriting guidelines referenced in the AIG Marine Intranet site. Ensuring that all underwriting decisions are documented in the underwriting file.
    • Handling of all processoriented tasks ensuring a smooth process in place
    • Other tasks that may be deemed necessary as per the Marine department requirements.
    Communication and Working Relationships

    Collaborates with other team members and peer underwriters within Commercial Lines and Distribution

    External

    Business relationships with brokers/producers Clients Risk Managers Loss adjusters
