    The Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate, starting February 1, 2024, to work under the supervision of Professor Pierre Youssef, on the subjects including (in no particular order):

  • Functional and concentration inequalities.
  • Mixing times of Markov chains.
  • Random matrix theory and spectrum of random graphs.
  • Mathematical aspects of machine learning (deep neural networks, reinforcement learning, feature selection, bias and fairness modeling, etc.)
  • While excellent candidates with other research interest may be considered, priority will be given to candidates with experience in one or several of the above topics.

    The probability group at New York University Abu Dhabi is rapidly growing with a weekly seminar in place. The research interests of the other faculty as well as the organized activities can be found on the Abu Dhabi Stochastics Group webpage.

    The Post-Doctoral Associate will be appointed for a duration of two years. Applicants must hold a PhD degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Theoretical Computer Science, as well as an outstanding academic record.

    This position will be based at New York University in Abu Dhabi, and the candidate must be ready to relocate to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
