Adecco Middle East currently hiring a Linux System Administrator for our prestigious end client based in UAE.

Job Location:
Abu Dhabi, UAE.


Job Type: 12-month extendable contract.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience as a Linux Systems Administrator, with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of computer networks, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewalls.
  • Good problemsolving and troubleshooting skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Industry certifications, such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Certified Linux Administrator (CLA), are a plus.
Functional Responsibilities

  • Work in rotating shifts to provide 24/7 monitoring and incident response support to ensure the availability, performance, and security of the cloud environment.
  • Provide base monitoring and technical operational and maintenance (O&M) support for the production environment, and perform Linux systems administration tasks as required.
  • Perform regular operating system patches, ensuring that systems are uptodate with the latest security and software updates.
  • Implement security baseline hardening on Linuxbased systems and servers to prevent unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
  • Conduct backup restoration tests and emergency drills to ensure that systems are recoverable in the event of a disaster or outage.
  • Adhere to production support processes and contribute to the development of new processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of cloud platform monitoring and incident response.
  • Collaborate with the Platform Engineering teams and the vendor O&M support team to ensure the timely resolution of incidents and problems and the implementation of changes and upgrades to the cloud environment.
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, international standards and related Policies and Procedures.
