    Description
    TheLogistics Assistant is responsible for supporting the Global TradeCompliance Manager. This position will also be responsible forsupporting the internal sales process, serving as a sales assistantas needed for captive accounts. All work follows generallyprescribed routines, with supervision being readilyavailable.

    Duties andResponsibilities
    • Coordinateshipping and logistics compliance for all departments(Check, confirm,analyze, and maintain USHTS of all products being importedincluding EPA exemption status and providing EPA form 3520,updating HTS list for both import and export,etc.)
    • Coordinatewith overseas headquarters (HQ) and MTS (Custom broker),forwarders, and steamship lines to facilitate shipping andlogistics issues of both import and export for all departments(correcting documentation errors, correcting EDI data errors,communicating co-load information, communicating vessel scheduledelay, issuing customs documents for both imports and exports,etc.)
    • Arrangeand set up actual export shipments of both air and ocean cargo(exports out of customers' sites and/orwarehouses)
    • Estimateshipping costs for the various departments and/orpersonnel
    • Respondto various requests and inquiries by logistics-related governmentorganizations
    • Workwith overseas HQ in assisting EDI transmission asneeded.
    • Uploadengine serial number information into S4 using EDI received fromoverseasHQ.
    • Coordinateand/or issue insurance claims and related issues regarding damagedor lost shipments, with forwarders, steamship lines, and theninsurancecompanies.
    • Coordinaterelated seminars with MTS for Sales, Operation, warehouse, andAccountingDepartments
    • Coordinateand set up meetings with MTS and/or forwarders regardingoperational issues on a neededbasis
    • IssueCountry of Origin Certificates (MCUSA Certificates) for alldepartments/customers uponrequest
    • Documentprocesses and update existingscripts.
    • Supportand maintain C-TPAT certification application and status(maintaining proper certification process within the office,auditing the process, updating changes to the supply-chain process,etc.).
    • Coordinateand assist special projects related to international logistics(shipment diversions, track, and trace, internal notifications,etc.)
    • Assistin the R&D process of supply-chain flow for three-way tradeshipments for customers to Central and South American regions, andCanada (process, procedure, rules/regulations,etc.)
    • Processorders from the first receipt through billing in an accurate andefficientmanner
    • Monitorthe progress of orders from receipt to final shipment to assuretimely delivery, detect problems, or expedite if required, byeffectively communicating with the customer, KBT, MTS, andwarehousepersonnel
    • Maintainand update engine quotationfiles.
    • Receive,research, and answer customer inquiries regarding sales orders andvarious other matters in a positive and supportivemanner.
    • Assistthe accounting department to resolve accounts receivable past duesand invoicingdiscrepancies
    • Maintainvarious spreadsheets and other data records by extracting,combining, updating, and creating new spreadsheets
    • Assistthird-party warehouse-related issues and operations asneeded
    • Issuemonthly shipment countreport
    • Makecopies, fax documents, and perform other clerical functions andduties as assigned
    • Maintainan organized and secure workenvironment.
    • Supportco-workers in other departments asneeded
    • Informthe Manager of all noteworthyactivities
    • Followsafety guidelines and department and corporate policies andprocedures.
